Halloween Cityscape

Belated thanks to everyone who took the Halloween Extras class at Impress - hope you liked the designs and techniques.  We had so many great stamps and dies to chose from - I could go on making Halloween cards for a few more weeks - but the 31st is just a few days away!

Here's a super-quick card for you - just diecut Cityscape Nightline, using the Metal Adapter Plate with the other plates required for thin metal dies, from Parchment Cardstock and ink the  edges with Khaki.  Cut a 3.75" x 5" piece of the Blackbird 6x6 print  and ink the edges with Khaki too.

Use a screwpunch to punch some holes in the center of the starbursts.  Attach packing tape behind the print.  Brush Peridot Glitter onto the adhesive in the holes.  Coordinate your instant-card with a matching Licorice Envelope.  Use scraps of the Mango Moroccan print for handwritten address labels.

A Spider Symphony

Does anyone else save the "background" 6x6 prints till the very end because they're too special to use for just any card?  I do - and here's an easy way to use the great music sheet print from the Nightfall 6x6 Set.

Just diecut spiders using the Creepy Spider and Dangling Spider Dies and attach them to the background.  That's it - done!

The Country House Die - usually so traditional and proper - becomes a spooky mansion when used with the yellow and black Blackbird 6x6 print.  Sections of the door and shutters swing open, offering a glimpse of the background, also from the Blackbird set.

Bubble, Bubble

The Loopy Rings Die 98370 creates a fun background for the Bubbling Pot C1881 here. Be sure to save the three solid dots that are cut out - glue them over some of the intricate rings to secure the rings to the background.

Here's another tip - diecut two centers from the Gothic Rosette and Center set, one from the Nightfall print and another one from scrap cardboard.   Secure the rosette between the two centers to keep it from popping up while the glue is setting up.  The cardboard center on the back of the rosette also makes it easier to attach the rosette to the background.  

Big thanks to everyone who took the Merry and Bright and Fall Garden Greetings classes at the Bellevue Impress last weekend.  We had a great time using the new Poppystamps dies, just in time for our holiday projects!
