Christmas Spirit

I love the combination of vintage and contemporary elements in the new Tinsel 6x6 Set.  The cheerful little birds seem right at home on the vintage background and the dotty poinsettia peeking through at the bottom adds a whimsical surprise.  

The glittered ornament overlays are from the In the Forest Design Adhesives.  Dave sized them so they're perfect for this collagey stamp.  They'd also be great hanging from a cluster of evergreen branches.  

It's exciting to hear that Patter Cross of our Create x 3 blog will be teaching Memory Box classes at our newest retailer - Stamp Salado in Salado, Texas.  Everyone there is in for a real treat when they meet Patter and are inspired by her beautiful designs and creativity.

Trees in Winter

A row of treetops punched from a new Tinsel 6x6 print can quickly brighten a snowy scene.  It's fun to reverse the proportions of design elements - for example, a big snowflake and small trees.  Stores everywhere are receiving their new stamps and the 6x6 and 12x12 papers in the Tinsel release.   Here's a list of the Retailers who have already ordered this great new collection.

Design Adhesives add a lot to a background by creating a layer of dimension without any bulkiness. Flurries - a combination of delicate, vintage and contemporary designs - is great for flower centers too. Just burnish a pattern onto a stamped, punched or diecut flower and add a splash of color with glitter, flocking, embossing powder or foils.  

Here's a preview of three of the six cards from the Six Spooky Cards class at the Tukwila Impress on October 3rd.  Background techniques, an easel card, flippy folds and a few tricks are on the agenda - along with some chocolate, for the treats.

Swirly Twirly Tree

Here's our just-released Spiral Tree (E1400) and an assortment of circles punched from prints in the Mistletoe 6x6 Set.  I hope you like circles - and circle punches - as much as I do!  

I think the Spiral Tree will quickly become a favorite Christmas stamp.  It's also great for watercoloring, color pencils, and stamping on a colorwashed background of soft, frosty blues.  It's a stamp you'll reach for again and again this holiday season.  Be sure your favorite Retailer has ordered it - and the entire Snowman release - so you can create along with us.

Return of the Vampire Penguin

Vampire Penguin is back - with a trio of Memory Box Spider Jewel Stickers.  They've gone upscale and are hanging from a glittered Design Adhesives Brocade flourish instead of the usual web this year.  

As Dave mentioned in his blog, Halloween just seems to be a good time to step away from our usual less-is-more style and get a little wild.  Don't laugh...this is my idea of wild + crazy!  There was a time (pre-Memory Box Jewels, Pearls and Design Adhesives) when I thought two gold mini-brads were bling. Adding a third mini-brad was way-over-the-top for me.  

I actually apologized the first time I used glitter in a class.  Someone asked if I was a glitter-snob. Not anymore!

Night Encounter

 
A Fright Night Design Adhesives crow meets up with the stamped Distressed Crows (F1394) on a print from the Blackbird 6x6 Set here.  

Black flocking covers the Fright Night crow for a dark, sinister contrast against his buddies stamped in Charcoal. The edges and corners are smudged with more Charcoal to give the night scene a murky, foggy look and make the flocked crow stand out even more.  Orange jewels from the Halloween Jewel Stickers Set illuminate the bare branches.
