Spring Greens

Here's another butterfly card with our favorite Inspire Butterfly Collage (G1352).  Then I'm off to prepare for tomorrow's Birthday Girls class at the Bellevue Paperzone -  where we'll be creating more butterfly and floral cards featuring stamps from the Enchanted Butterfly Collection.  

I love using Kaleidacolor inkpads with VersaMark for great resist designs like this one.  Instead of the usual glossy cardstock, this card uses a semi-gloss finish for a more variegated look.  I like the way that works with the vintage text Dave selected for this stamp. 

Speaking of Dave...wait till you see the wonderful new collection of garden stamps he's releasing next week!  We'll be introducing those brand-new stamps on our blogs and in our website's Design Gallery in the next few days.  Be sure your favorite Retailer has ordered them - along with the new Enchanted and Jubilee papers.

Happy, Happier, Happiest Birthday

Forgive me if I'm ignoring blog etiquette by adding several posts today - but I'm scrambling to catch up! 

There are so many great prints in our new Enchanted 6x6 Set and I love the new butterfly stamps - hope you like this quick birthday greeting.  The design would also be perfect for a Mother's Day Card with a simple change of the greeting.  

Soft pinks, greens and chartreuses are one of my favorite combinations...they just say "Spring" and work for so many occasions.

May Calendar

Our new Cherry Picnic 12x12 and the Damask Butterfly (D1350) create a calendar for the month of May.  I used a simple calendar from the iMac and selected Optima for the font. Soft spring pastels are transitioning to warmer, brighter shades as the weather warms up and the days get longer.

Instructions:

• Stamp portions of Create Art using the following ink and cardstock combinations - "create" + Orchid Pastel on Cherry Blossom Cardstock, "discover" + Sour Apple on Bayou Cardstock, "explore" + Spring Green on Sunflower Cardstock 
• Stamp Damask Butterfly over sections of the collage using matching inks
• Punch the stamped images using a 2-3/4" punch 
• Use the Stylus Handle, Leaf Tip and matching inks to edge the circles 
• Punch three Truffle Cardstock circles and layer them behind the stamped circles, offsetting them so the circles stand out from the background
• Punch three 1-1/8" circles from the striped Gelato sheet and ink the edges with Sour Apple.
• Ink the edges of the calendar with Sour Apple
• Attach the pieces to the Cherry Picnic 12x12, using foam dots where the large circles are attached to the background
• Attach Deep Lagoon, Azalea Pink and Grass Green Jewel Stickers to the large circles 
• Attach Cherry Red Jewel Stickers to the small circles
