The Christmas Block and Flurry of Birds create a quick holiday card in contemporary Key Lime, Parsley and Red Pepper Memory Box papers. Finish it off with Pistachio Green Jewel Stickers (or Moss Green from the Christmas Jewel Stickers).
Try combining a distressed, vintage-y background with contemporary elements for a holiday version of something old, something new. The stamps are from the Night Before Clear Set - and the background print comes from the Spiceberry 6x6 Set.

Here's another way to use one of the Glitterati 6x6 sheets you may have - stamp, clear-emboss and cut it into a bright little scarf for the Ornament Penguin. Attaching it over the penguin stamped on the Impress Calendar adds a bit of dimension - and makes it look like it's wrapped around him. Paint the holly with Siren and Green Apple Smooch Accent Inks and add some shimmery Starlite Silver Point Flakes. The Pine Border is just the right size to top it off.
The Christmas Cheer Block - and ornaments on Soiree Cardstock - send holiday wishes in frosty blues, greens and purples. The ornaments are stamped from a versatile circle stamp in the Night Before Clear Set. It's about 1-1/8" in diameter - perfect for stamping and/or punching into different shapes and sizes. Try it with heart or star punches too - or punch it into a square and attach a bow to make it look like a gift box.
It's about "that time" again - when I look at my annual paper stash, and realize I need to use up my 2009 Memory Box papers to make room for the great new designs Dave will introduce next year. No, I haven't seen them yet - but I just know they'll be great. Have they ever not been?
I'll be sharing more ideas for using many of the '09 papers in my stash - Glitterati, Butterfield, Rhubarb Tart, Fernbrae and Spiceberry. Especially Rhubarb Tart, with so many pretty red and green prints - and Glitterati, with its greens and teals. The background on this card is from Butterfield.

Our Night Before Clear Set is a great backdrop for many other holiday stamps - including the beautiful Reindeer Silhouette, which appears on several cards in our Ideas Gallery. The December calendar, from the set, would also personalize a card for someone celebrating a birthday next month.
I love the Kraft Cardstock - it's one of my favorites among the 84 Soiree and duplex Memory Box colors. It's great with both dye and pigment inkpads - and with Memento and Copic Markers too. We've embossed stamped images on Kraft Cardstock and painted them with Smooch Accent Inks for a great punch of color and a beautiful metallic finish. It's a nice neutral tone for "people" cards - add a little pink for a soft blush or rosy cheeks, if you wish.
Be sure to stop by Stampin' in the Rain in Bothell from 6:00-10:00 tomorrow night, November 20th, for their Holiday Open House. Here's an easy fall design that could be a thank you, get well or thinking-of-you card. It could be a Thanksgiving card too. Use chalks to color the houses in earthy "housepaint colors" that coordinate with the background from the Butterfield 6x6 Set.
I've been using a lot of purple this week and thought I'd share a holiday card idea that goes a bit beyond typical winter pastels. I also wanted to use the new dove punch I bought at Impress. One can never have too many punches.

The graceful Ampersand (B1267) - used here as a design element - was just too pretty to save for a wedding card. You'll see it often at InKollage...I'm on a mission to find other greeting stamps to use with it.
The Woodblock Bird - from the Brighter Days Collection - works perfectly with many of our holiday stamps, including the Bramble Wreath. The wreath's "twiggyness" creates a nice frame for a nature-inspired card in festive holiday colors.
