A {Large} Gift Tag

I have this gift to give to my amazing hairdresser and friend tomorrow.  I wanted to include a note with the tag but I didn't want to create an entire card. So, I thought I would make a quick tag/postcard of sorts. The front of the tag has the "to/from" and the backside of the tag contains my personal note to her.  So, while it's a larger tag (4"x5 1/4"), it serves two purposes.


Papers:  wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby
Stamp Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink walnut stain and faded jeans
Stamps:  Memory Box Crystal Snowflake E1410
Embellishments: Memory Box snowflake and diamond jewels, Cuttlebug scrollwork embossing folder, tulle from Hobby Lobby

To create the tag, I used an embossing folder that was open in the center so that I could stamp the Memory Box Crystal Snowflake stamp {E1410}.  You can also see the image stamped around the edges of the tag.  After stamping the snowflake, I inked up the tag quite a bit and added Memory Box diamond and snowflakes jewels.  To finish, I punched two holes and threaded through some tulle for decoration.  Simple yet different from the usual 'to/from' tag. New Releases, Prizes, & a Card!

Have you heard the fun news?  Memory Box has more new releases, and as always, they are AMAZING!!!!  This release is called the Winter Wonder Collection, and there are new papers and stamps!  Yeah!  And to celebrate, the Memory Box Team is doing a Blog Blitz this week over on the Outside the Box blog. It runs from Monday, 10/18, through Sunday, 10/24. There are two posts each day featuring the latest stamps and papers.  At the end of the week, two random comments from the week will be chosen to win a $50 Memory Box prize pack.  Who doesn't want to win that?  WOW!  I will be sharing creations here too but to be eligible for the prize pack, you will need to leave comments on the Outside the Box blog.  I would certainly love your comments here too. :) :)  Okay, now onto today's creation and new release!

I used the amazing new stamp called Believe Poinsettia Collage {G1421}.  To create the background, I used a technique I saw Jennifer McGuire share.  I put distress inks directly onto my acrylic block.  Then I misted the block and stamped the colors onto watercolor paper.  I misted the paper after stamping too so that the color would run just a bit.  I then stamped the image using VersaFine onyx black ink.


To create the edges, I used my tearing tool and added Glossy Accents just to the center of the poinsettia.  I also added some Stickles.  And here is how my card turned out:
