{Tiled} Peace Collage

Papers:  Memory Box Tinsel Poinsettia Birds, Memory Box crimson cs, Paper Trey Ink white cs
Stamp Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Ink forest moss

Embellishments: SU ribbon, Stickles diamond, Copic C1

Today's card uses a faux tile technique.  I wasn't sure how it would look with the Peace Collage stamp {G1411} but once it was done, I liked it. I have seen this technique done with background stamps but not a stamp with writing.  So, I decided I would try it for fun!  To create this card:

1. Score every 3/4" on a 2 1/2"x4 1/8" white piece of cardstock.
2. Stamp the image on the side of the cardstock with the "valley" scores.  The stamped image will not get down into the "valleys."
3. Punch a 3/4" square in a 2"x2" piece of cardstock.
4. Use that as a mask to sponge each tile with ink. For variation, try different colors of inks in the tiles.
5. Ink the edges of the entire piece after sponging.
6. Mat the piece onto white cardstock and ink the edges. 
7. Mat that onto a Memory Box crimson cardstock.
8. Tie bow around the center of the piece, and set aside. You can use the bow tying technique I shared in this post here.
9. Mat to a 3 3/4" x 5 1/8" piece of Memory Box Poinsettia Birds paper.
10. Mat that piece onto Memory Box crimson cardstock and adhere to a white notecard.
11. Attach piece you set aside in Step 8 and add Stickles to the snowflakes to finish.

Polar Bear Postage

I found this postage template on the web, and I knew it would be perfect for the Memory Box Fred P. Bear {C1409} stamp.  I masked each square to stamp the image and to add the background ink. Then I colored each scarf with my Prismacolor pencils matching the colors in the Memory Box Tinsel paper.  Then I pulled out some decorative scissors I haven't used in years and years. Remember those things?  LOL! I used the scissors to cut out the "stamp block."  I didn't dress this up too much because I wanted to show off the "postage."  I think Fred P. Winterberry Wreath with {Tulle}

Today I have been playing with toille on several creations. I thought it would be beautiful with the Memory Box Winterberry Wreath stamp {D1414} and the gorgeous Poinsettia Birds 12x12 paper.  What I love about the Poinsettia Bird paper is that you can cut out various pieces on the paper to make embellishments.  I cut out a poinsettia and a bird from the paper to add to my card.  After attaching the bird and poinsettia, I added Distress Stickles to both pieces to dress them up more. I also inked the edges of the poinsettia but it's hard to see in the photo.

For the Winterberry Wreath image, I stamped it onto watercolor paper after adding distress ink and a spritz of water to create my colored background.  I then added the wonderful Memory Box berry pearls to finish the card. 

So, if you have the Winterberry Wreath stamp and/or you have some Memory Box 12x12 papers, try cutting out your embellishments and creating a fun look then adding some toille.  The Winterberry Wreath stamp can be used for any season so get creative and have some fun!  Thanks for stopping by. Happy Thursday!  Today I wanted to share this card.  I paired up the ornament paper out of the 6x6 Tinsel collection paper pack and the Ornament Cheer Block stamp {E1408} for this card.  I decided to have fun and use the colors in the papers so while this may be "non-traditional" Christmas colors, it was fun to go "out of the box."  I usually stick with red/green or blue/kraft/white for Christmas. :)  Anyway, I also distressed the edges and sponged the watercolor paper. I think it kind of gave this card a vintage look.  Then I added silver Stickles to the ornaments to give them some glitter. I also added the Stickles to the snowflakes on the image but they didn't show up too well in the photo.  And finally I added the amazing Memory Box snowflake jewel stickers. They added that touch of bling to go along with the Stickles.  This card really sparkles in person.  Now why doesn't the camera quite pick up the sparkle?  :)  Anyway, I hope you enjoy my creation today, and let's see those Tinsel creations you have made!  Enjoy your day!

A {Tinsel} Teaser

I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored the ornaments with both Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I also decided to use a Memory Box crimson notecard that I spritz with Glimmer Mist.  I started to use some patterned paper but then decided it detracted from my image too much.  I really liked the solid colors with this image.  I hope you enjoy this card and that you are excited to play with the new Tinsel Collection.
