Today I wanted to share another card that participants will make in my upcoming class on January 22. If you missed those details, please see my post here. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to use the new Elephant Party 12x12 paper to make a "green Valentine." The colors in the Pixie papers make it fun to highlight any color--pink, green, marmalade, blue, etc. I loved highlighting the green and making a non-traditional Valentine. If you haven't picked up the 6x6 Pixie pack yet, I highly recommend it. All of Memory Box's 6x6 paper packs are FULL of yummy colors and designs. Remember, to find a Memory Box store, you can use the Store Finder here.

Well, enjoy the day, and thanks for stopping by! I hope to see some of you on the 22nd! :)
Happy New Year everyone! I started this layout yesterday--the last day of 2010. I got to finish it this morning--the first day of 2011. Kind of fun! Since everyone else around the country seems to be getting snow and other weird weather and our weather is its normal 60-70 degrees, I decided to remind myself of the rare snowfall we got in February 2010 by creating this layout. I also created a layout the other day using a photo of my daughter in this snow. If you missed it, you can see that post here. I also use the new Memory Box Valentine release on that layout. Anyway, here is today's layout of our "big" snow. Papers: Memory Box Pixie, Paper Trey Ink cs Stamps: Memory Box Heart Bird Keepsake F1439 Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink shabby shutters, peeled paint, and walnut stain Embellishments: Spellbinders grand scalloped squares, Ranger sticky-back canvas, Glimmer Mist key lime pie and hot chocolate, Tim Holtz fence die and journaling ticket, Distress Stickles clear rock candy, Liquid Pearls white opal, Rose Moka alpha stickers, Basic Grey chipboard alpha, Creative Café felt flowers, Paper Trey Ink buttons, misc. ruler ribbon
I used the new Memory Box Pixie papers and one of the new Valentine stamps called "Heart Bird Keepsake" {F1439}. I stamped the Heart Bird Keepsake image on sticky-back canvas then cut it out. I then inked it up a bit to match the layout. To create the fence, I used my fence die cut to cut out my PIxie paper. Then I added clear rock candy Distress Stickles, crackle medium, and after that dried overnight, I added white opal liquid pearls for the snow. It's hard to tell in the photo how it really looks but the effect is fun.
Now for more fun, here is a short, 49 second video that goes along with the photo. My hubby was in India or China (can't remember which country), and he missed it so I filmed this for him! In 12 1/2 years, we have never had snow like this where we are, and the poor guy missed it!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the layout with the new Valentine goodies and the little video. Happy New Year to all of you!
With the Christmas break still in full swing, I was in a mood to do a layout today. I really need to do more layouts this coming year! I also wanted to use the new Valentine Delights collection. Have you seen it? If not, be sure to click here.
The new Pixie papers went perfectly with this photo of my daughter. So, I decided to use them for my layout. To create the background, I just spritzed a white piece of 8x8 cardstock with Glimmer Mist. And for the banner, I stamped the new Leaf Canopy stamp {F1430} in both green and pink ink. Then I cut it out to make the banner. You can see it clearly in the close-up photo below. I LOVE using background stamps or similar stamps to create other things such as this banner. The Love and Hearts stamp {B1423} was also perfect for my title. And if you read my journaling, please don't laugh at our record snowfall amount! LOL! Not sure when we will get snow again as today it is in the mid-70s! Papers: Memory Box Pixie, Paper Trey Ink cs Stamps: Memory Box Leaf Canopy F1430, Memory Box Love and Hearts B1423 Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks shabby shutters, spun sugar, and embossing ink; Zing blush ep Embellishments: Memory Box snowflake jewels, Memory Box pearls, Glimmer Mist pink taffy and hula hoop, Jillibean Soup journaling sprout, Tim Holtz scallop die, Paper Trey Ink banner dies, Maya Road organza roses, Basic Grey chipboard alpha, Zva Creative pearl flower, Fancy Pants flowers, misc. hemp, sewing machine
I hope you enjoyed seeing a layout with the new Valentine Delights release! Hopefully you will see more layouts from me as we go along! Have a blessed Wednesday!
Well, today I thought I would experiment not only with the new Memory Box Valentine goodies but also with my camera and tripod. This video is only 4 minutes long. I wanted to see how "it works." The technique I share in this video is how I created the watercolor background on today's card. You have seen me use this technique on other cards. I thought it would be something easy to share as I experimented with the camera. I hope you will watch and enjoy. Please disregard my precious parrots, Kiwi and Sugar, at the very end. I guess they decided they wanted to be heard too! I hope you enjoy the video and my card: Papers: Memory Box Pixie, Canson watercolor paper, Paper Trey Ink cs Stamps: Memory Box Adore Peony Collage G1433 Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink shabby shutters and spun sugar, Memento rose bud Embellishments: Glossy accents, Ribbon Retreat ribbon
Well, feel free to let me know how to change things, how you liked it, etc. This is hopefully the first of many videos to come featuring Memory Box products. Have a blessed Monday!
