I love to create tags but for some reason I haven't made them in a while. I did one last week for something I created for Dave, and now I want to make more of them. Why did I stop making tags? Hmmm? Anyway, today I want to share how I make them, and how I used the beautiful Memory Box Butterfield papers to make today's tag.
First, I always cover a jumbo playing card or flashcard when making tags. It makes the tag sturdy and SO nice. I like to buy flashcards on clearance to use.
Then I trace my papers to fit the tag, cut them down, and get my embellishments together.
For this tag, I was trying to create a bit of a scene with the Butterfield papers. And by the way, paper scraps are perfect for using on tags! Sometimes I will stamp a sentiment but for this tag, I printed a quote I found on the web. Then I used the Memory Box solid butterfly {B1048} stamp for the front of my tag.
Once I have all of my pieces, then it is easy to assemble. Here is how my tag turned out:
Papers: Memory Box Butterfield, Memory Box concord grape cardstock, Creative Memories lined paper
Stamps: Memory Box Solid Butterfly B1048
Stamp Ink: SU old olive, SU lovely lilac
Embellishments: misc. ribbon, Stickles starry night
For the back of my tags, I use either lined paper or plain cardstock so that I can write a note to the receiver. I also tend to use scraps and punch out shapes or something to decorate it a bit. Here is the back of my tag:
So, next time you are out and see those flashcards on clearance, pick up a pack. Then grab your Memory Box scraps and make a few tags! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
