Well, I suppose I am not too late for making a calendar for 2013. I usually like to get one made earlier but I just haven't had a chance. And this year, I have created this calendar so that I can update it each year without making a new display tray. Here is how my calendar looks for 2013:
Tray: 7Gypsies Solo Shadow Box Tray 6x6
Papers: Memory Box Pixie, Memory Box mocha cs
Stamps: Memory Box Flowering Branches E1836
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink spun sugar and frayed burlap
Dies: Memory Box Pristine Border die, Poppystamps Simple Banner die (836)
Embellishments: Memory Box white pearls, printed calendar by findingnana, 7Gypsies brown ruler, wooden spool from Hobby Lobby wrapped in Divine Twine, wooden clothes pins and scrabble tile from Hobby Lobby, Magnolia pink jewel trim, Prima Solitaire Meadow flower and wooden button, misc. scissor charm, misc. lace trim
The 6x6 display tray is from 7Gypsies. I used the Memory Box 6x6 Pixie paper pack to fill some of the openings with paper. I then printed out a calendar that I found on Pinterest. It was the perfect fit for this tray. Once I printed out the monthly calendars, I stamped each month with the Memory Box Flowering Branches stamp {E1836} using light pink ink. I was going to use a different color for each month but then the ink didn't match my pink and brown color scheme I was using on the tray so I used the same ink on each month. The multiple colors would have driven me nuts I think. LOL!
I then used small wooden clothes pins to attach the calendar. That way I can easily unclip each month as it passes, and for 2014, I can just print and attach a new calendar.
I also wanted some chipboard on this calendar so I used the Memory Box Pristine Border die which has been discontinued. I know some stores still have it in stock. Do a google search, and many stores will come up. Grab it because it is a great and versatile die! I also used the Poppystamps Simple Banner die {836} and cut it out of chipboard. The chipboard I like to use most for cutting dies comes from my vitamin boxes. They are made out of thin, brown chipboard and it's perfect for die cuts. I flatten and save the boxes in my studio. Sometimes I will color or alter the chipboard but for this tray, I wanted to leave it raw.
And finally, if you are wondering how I attached all of the metal embellishments, I used Glossy Accents. Actually, I use it for all embellisments--flowers, chipboard, wood, metal, etc. It holds everything so well!
I hope you enjoy today's creation. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your Sunday!
So pretty,what a great calendar :)

What a beautiful calendar---I love how you decided to make it usable for the future, as well. (Why re-invent the wheel?) You have a great day, Patter! Love, Jennifer in Ohio
