Leftovers! Yes! But not what you are thinking. :) I know many of us have been eating leftovers from Thanksgiving but I thought it would be fun to play with leftovers found in my very messy studio! I still haven't finished unpacking. I kind of got tired of it and have left it for about 6 weeks. I guess we really don't need what's still in the boxes. LOL! Anyway, my studio is a complete disaster, and as I began to clean a bit today, I realized there were many scraps and leftovers that I could either toss or use on a creation. So, I decided to challenge myself and use them on a creation. Here is a list of the seven leftovers I used:
*pieces of leaves from this Memory Box layout
*new leaves cut out of a scrap piece of cork on my table
*a piece of "under paper" from my art journaling. This paper keeps my table from getting messy as I paint but it also creates fun paper.
*a scrap piece of burlap on my desk
*an extra Memory Box thistle notecard from my last class
*a leftover piece of brown paper bag from this Memory Box card
*a leftover piece of Hug Snug that was partially colored in a different color. I colored over it with a deep purple. Couldn't even see the old color underneath!
And here is what these "leftovers" turned into:
Papers: Memory Box boysenberry cs, Memory Box thistle notecardDies: Poppystamps Lorelai Leaf die
Stamps: Memory Box Peace Love and Joy G1874, Memory Box Twelve Days G1899
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink gathered twigs
Embellishments: hand-dyed Hug Snug seam binding, Adirondack Color Wash wild plum, misc. paper bag, cork from Hobby Lobby, burlap from Save-on-Crafts, sewing machine
The Memory Box stamps I used were the Memory Box Peace Love and Joy {G1874} and Memory Box Twelve Days {G1899} stamps. And here is a little something else I made out of leftovers this week:
Yum! I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving, and why not challenge yourself to a "leftover" challenge! I would love to see what you create!
Patter, I really, really like the color of your hug snug. The way your background turned out is pretty cool too. I always did like leftovers. :)
