Don't you just love the new houses in the What's in the Box 2011 release? If you haven't seen them, you can see them here:
*Home Sweet Home {D1725} and Cozy Home {D1726}
My aunt is moving into her new home, so I thought I would make her a little card using the Cozy Home stamp. I also used the Leafy Branch {C1361} stamp to create a background on the Memory Box kraft notecard. Here is how it turned out:
Papers: Memory Box Minuet, Memory Box kraft notecard
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink weathered wood and walnut stain
Stamps: Memory Box Leafy Branch C1361, Memory Box Cozy Home D1726
Embellishments: misc. string, sewing machine, Copic BG72 (for windows)
To create this card:
1. First I stamped the Cozy Home onto a piece of Minuet paper from the 6x6 pack.
2. Next I trimmed it down and mounted onto another piece of Minuet paper.
3. I then stamped just the roof onto another piece of paper and pieced the roof onto the house so that it was a different color. I also used Copic BG72 to color in the top and bottom of each window.
4. Next I used three other papers from the same Minuet pack and cut them into 1 1/2" squares.
5. I used my sewing maching to stitch around the house and the squares.
6. To prepare my notecard, I stamped the Leafy Branch stamp randomly all over the notecard using Distress Ink weathered wood.
7. Once the background was complete, I wrapped some string around the house and attached the pieces onto the card to finish.
Well, I sure hope she likes it. Now to get her new address so I can mail it. LOL! Thanks for stopping by, and have a blessed weekend!
What a cute card! Your aunt is sure to love it. I love all the attention to details you do on your cards.
