Another Layout with More Chances to {Win}

Today I am sharing another layout on the DT blog. I thought I would share it here too for those of you that don't always see the DT blog.  But you will definitely want to jump over there to leave a comment so that you are entered to win some of the newest Memory Box goodies!  This 8x8 layout uses the new Memory Box licorice distressed dots patterned paper on the page base. It was just perfect. The piece of grey paper in the Memory Box Minuet 6x6 pack was also perfect for this.  And can you find the stamps I used on here? :)

So, did you find the stamps I used?  Here is how I used the new stamps on this layout: 

Journey Collage G1733--I stamped just the lower half of this stamp onto Minuet paper. I then trimmed it down and incorporated it into my title!

Bitsy Car A1729--Next I stamped this image several times on the layout: twice down by the title and once on the journaling tag. Just a bit of the car "peeps" through on the journaling tag. I thought that would be fun just to show a part of the image.

Oh Sugar!

Okay, so how many of you started singing when you read my title?  For those of you asking "singing what?" then I am definitely dating myself! LOL! One of our parrots' names is Sugar, and I always sing this song to her. She dances right along with me and loves it! Anyway, I had this adorable picture of her "helping" me unpack the groceries.  Her beautiful feathers matched the colors in the new Memory Box Minuet papers and the new patterned papers so well that it all came together perfectly for this layout:

I used the new Orchid Branch Print {G1718} image to stamp the flowers several times onto the new Memory Box Patterned Papers--mango and squash distressed dots and mango moroccan paper. I then cut out each flower, added Stickles to the center of each flower, and sprinkled them on my layout. This stamp and the flowers have SO much potential on any paper creation! I am sure I will be using this a lot!

A {Layout} for the Blog Blitz

So, did you know that there is a Memory Box Blog Blitz going on this week and next week on the Memory Box DT blog?  We are sharing the new papers and stamps from the What's in the Box 2011 release just being shipped to stores!  Today is my day to share, and I created a layout! You are definitely going to see more layouts from me this year. I miss scrapping so much, and I am really enjoying getting some pages done!  Here is my 8x8 page:

Now, do you want to see what stamps and papers I used and how I used them? I used 4 of the stamps in this release along with the new 6x6 Minuet papers. So yummy! Let's look at how I incorporated these 4 stamps onto my layout: 

Circle Word Background E1711—I stamped this image onto both of my lace tags for a bit of a background on each tag.

Grass Print C1721—Next, I stamped this image several times on top of each lace tag to look like leaves extending from the felt flowers.

Cocoa Bean Butterfly C1714—Is this butterfly not beautiful? Wow! I stamped the butterfly onto Minuet paper, and then I colored the image in with watercolor pencils. After coloring, I cut out the butterfly and added Glossy Accents to the butterfly body and the tips of the wings. I then used Pop Dots and used the butterfly as an embellishment.



Vintage Record Sheet G1712—I stamped just the bottom third of this image onto cardstock and used it for a journaling spot.

Ready for Another Valentine Creation?

I love the new Adore Peony Collage {G1433} stamp!  It can be used in so many ways. The other Memory Box designers have used their Copic markers with this stamp, paper pieced the image, watercolored the image, etc. So in an effort to not repeat, I decided to try coloring the flowers in with Stickles for fun! :)


I was surprised at how much gold showed up with the diamond Stickles. I can't wait to try this again with a different color of Stickles. They can truly give this a different look each time.

A {Green} Valentine

Today I wanted to share another card that participants will make in my upcoming class on January 22. If you missed those details, please see my post here.  Anyway, I thought it would be fun to use the new Elephant Party 12x12 paper to make a "green Valentine."  The colors in the Pixie papers make it fun to highlight any color--pink, green, marmalade, blue, etc. I loved highlighting the green and making a non-traditional Valentine.  If you haven't picked up the 6x6 Pixie pack yet, I highly recommend it. All of Memory Box's 6x6 paper packs are FULL of yummy colors and designs.  Remember, to find a Memory Box store, you can use the Store Finder here.

Cards for Upcoming Class!

My First Layout for 2011

Happy New Year everyone!  I started this layout yesterday--the last day of 2010.  I got to finish it this morning--the first day of 2011.  Kind of fun!  Since everyone else around the country seems to be getting snow and other weird weather and our weather is its normal 60-70 degrees, I decided to remind myself of the rare snowfall we got in February 2010 by creating this layout. I also created a layout the other day using a photo of my daughter in this snow. If you missed it, you can see that post here. I also use the new Memory Box Valentine release on that layout. Anyway, here is today's layout of our "big" snow.

I used the new Memory Box Pixie papers and one of the new Valentine stamps called "Heart Bird Keepsake" {F1439}.  I stamped the Heart Bird Keepsake image on sticky-back canvas then cut it out.  I then inked it up a bit to match the layout. To create the fence, I used my fence die cut to cut out my PIxie paper. Then I added clear rock candy Distress Stickles, crackle medium, and after that dried overnight, I added white opal liquid pearls for the snow. It's hard to tell in the photo how it really looks but the effect is fun.

Now for more fun, here is a short, 49 second video that goes along with the photo. My hubby was in India or China (can't remember which country), and he missed it so I filmed this for him! In 12 1/2 years, we have never had snow like this where we are, and the poor guy missed it!
