Well, today I thought I would experiment not only with the new Memory Box Valentine goodies but also with my camera and tripod. This video is only 4 minutes long. I wanted to see how "it works." The technique I share in this video is how I created the watercolor background on today's card. You have seen me use this technique on other cards. I thought it would be something easy to share as I experimented with the camera. I hope you will watch and enjoy. Please disregard my precious parrots, Kiwi and Sugar, at the very end. I guess they decided they wanted to be heard too! I hope you enjoy the video and my card:
Papers: Memory Box Pixie, Canson watercolor paper, Paper Trey Ink cs
Stamps: Memory Box Adore Peony Collage G1433
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink shabby shutters and spun sugar, Memento rose bud
Embellishments: Glossy accents, Ribbon Retreat ribbon
Well, feel free to let me know how to change things, how you liked it, etc. This is hopefully the first of many videos to come featuring Memory Box products. Have a blessed Monday!

I really liked seeing how you created the effect. I enjoy watching demonstrations. For me, it really helps me to understand it much better and shows me that I CAN do it. :) Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks Kathy! Glad you liked it! I sure hope it made sense. I know I said I would spritz the paper but I don't. I just spritz the acrylic block. LOL!

Well Patter,
I think you did a great job, especially for your first video. The only thing I can think of (that I would change) would be...
after you tear the edges, just lay it on a piece of the paper that is the background on the card. It would make the design show up more and by that time I had forgotten what the finished card looked like so that may help.
I look forward to many more videos from you.
Debbie

LOL on the speaking voice Shelly! :) I can't stand to hear myself but I do a lot of public speaking. My last speech was in front of 180+ women. I love to teach and give speeches. I am weird that way. LOL! So glad you liked it. And yes, the papers and the stamps are great. Make sure you visit the link to the Valentine goodies to see all of the other Valentine stamps. All of the Memory Box collage stamps work perfect for this technique!
And Debbie, thank you for the feedback. It is really hard to "preplan" what I will do on a video. I didn't even "plan" to tear my paper on the video. Too funny! But I like your recommendation. Thank you very much!

Great video, Patter! I love how-to videos....I think I must be a visual learner. :) I agree that laying it on a background or even just showing the finished card at the end would be helpful.
I enjoyed hearing the birds. If I did a video, you'd be sure to hear a cat or see their paws trying to swipe my supplies. LOL

Thanks again everyone. And you want to know my little secret, I always work on that glass mat, and the lines helped me make sure I worked where y'all could see me so I didn't stray off camera. LOL! I will try to work like that but put the finished product on top of something at the end in the future. :)
Robyn, my tearing tool is from CM. I have had it for several years. The store where I teach my Memory Box classes sells them too but I forget who makes them.

I enjoyed your video and hearing your voice and the parrots also. :) I'm glad you showed the cutting tool. That's brand new too me. I've never seen it anywhere, didn't know there was one, and my tearing by hand, goes crazy. Guess it's too late to put this on my list for "Santa". :)Looking forward to many more videos. Thanks
