So, things have been a little crazy around here as one of my daughter's had surgery this week. In trying to take care of her, I have tried to get my design work done but it's been a bit difficult. In my effort to create, I discovered I was creating a "beautiful mess" on my desk. Here is a scrap paper that was catching my messes on my desk:
Well, truly that mess inspired me for today's creation! Never be afraid to look at trash for inspiration! On this piece of trash, I loved the colors, and I loved them blended in a jumbled mess. So, I took those inks, ran them across my craft sheet, and spritzed the inks with water.
Once I did that, I ran a piece of white cardstock through them to create the background of my tag. It curled a bit but once I finished the creation, it all smoothed out. You will see in the last photos. I then stamped my image (Memory Box Budding Branch D1360) in VersaMark on top of the colored mess and embossed it with Zing Powder.
See how it's all a bit curled? It does smooth out once matted to other paper. Next I used my Quickutz tag die to cut out my tag. I then matted it onto Memory Box Thistle cardstock. Then I added an eyelet and hand-dyed seam binding to the top, stamped the sentiment with the Memory Box Very Best stamp {B1359}, and finished with Memory Box diamond jewels. They were the perfect touch to finish this tag. I find my Memory Box jewels to be a "staple" that I can use on any and every project!. Here is the finished tag:
Papers: Memory Box thistle cs, Paper Trey Ink cs
Stamps: Memory Box Budding Branch D1360, Memory Box Very Best B1359
Stamp Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Inks dusty concord, tumbled glass, and peeled paint; VersaMark; Zing powder ep
Embellishments: Memory Box diamond jewels, hand-dyed seam binding, misc. purple eyelet
I hope you enjoyed today's "Messy Inspiration." I would love to know where you find inspiration! Have a joyous weekend!

This is lovely! I, too, have created cards out of my scrap paper - one of a kind to be sure but fun! Thanks for sharing and I hope your daughter recovers quickly!
