I know Dave's "Spooky Collage" card is all the rage! It is a VERY cool card for sure! If you haven't seen it, be sure to check out his great step-by-step instructions here. Now, I wanted to create something similar but I chose a different technique for creating this fun look.
1. Cut a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" piece of Soiree cardstock.
2. Mist your paper with water using a mister.
3. Add drops of orange, yellow, brown, and red reinker all over the paper. I used Stampin' Up reinkers. I would suggest going easy on the brown. I think I would have liked mine better with less brown. :)
4. Pick up your paper and move it around to get the ink to run all over the paper.
5. Let dry. You can also use your heat tool to help speed up the process. Your paper will curl a bit but once you have it adhered to your card, it will be fine.
6. After the ink is dry, stamp the Spooky Collage stamp {G1387} stamp onto your paper and emboss with clear embossing powder.
7. Trim paper close to stamped image and ink edges in black ink.
8. Cut a 3 1/4" x 5" piece of MB Perched 12x12 paper or cut a piece from the Blackbird 6x6 paper pack.
9. Use your tearing tool to tear off a bit of the bottom of the piece.
10. Ink the 3 smooth edges with black ink, and mount your other piece of paper to this piece.
11. Cut an 8" piece of ribbon and tie around your papers.
12. Adhere to a MB licorice notecard.
13. Finish by adding Diamond Glaze on top of the word "spooky" and let dry.
Papers: Memory Box Perched paper, Memory Box licorice notecard, Memory Box frost soiree cs
Stamps: Memory Box Spooky Collage G1387
Stamp Ink: SU reinkers (pumpkin pie, summer fun, ruby red, and close to cocoa), VersaFine onyx black, Memento tuxedo black, Ranger clear ep
Embellishments: misc. ribbon, Diamond Glaze
It always amazes me to see what you come up with! When you put Patter and Memory Box together, you can ALWAYS expect unbelievable creativity! What a team you make! This is the greatest Halloween card evah!!! :)

A great variation on Dave's version. I really love them both and it's fun to see what a difference just a few changes in technique can make!

Wow, Frieda, you know how to make a girl's day. Thank you for your very sweet words! I am humbled. :)
And Marijane, I am glad you like mine too. Thank you! It is amazing how different they can be by making a few subtle changes. I liked trying it this way, and I was anxious to see the results! I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. LOL! :)
