Ribbon & a Butterfly!

Papers:  Paper Trey Ink cardstock
Stamp Ink:  Versafine onyx black, Ranger clear EP
Stamp:  Memory Box Damask Butterfly D1350
Embellishments: Dymo labeler, ribbon from fabric.com, sewing machine  

These new Enchanted Butterfly stamps are some of my Memory Box favorites.  I have always loved butterflies and these stamps just capture beauty and fun!  Today I thought it was be fun to use some wide ribbon with the the Memory Box Damask Butterfly stamp {D1350}. Here is how I created this card:

1.  Cut ribbon to appropriate length.  Make wide folds in the ribbon and stitch down the center.  Set aside.
2.  Stamp the butterfly onto plain cardstock using Tsukineko Versafine ink.  This ink really let's the details of the Damask butterfly stamp come out.
3.  Emboss with clear embossing powder then cut out the butterfly.
4.  Use glue dots to adhere the ribbon to your card.
5.  Stitch around the card with your sewing machine.
6.  Attach the butterfly using pop dots.
7.  Add your Dymo sentiment to finish.

Sponge Inspired Butterfly!

Papers:  Memory Box Frond, misc. white cs
Stamps:  Memory Box Inspire Butterfly Collage G1352
Stamp Ink:  SU creamy caramel, sage shadow, barely banana; VersaMark, Ranger clear ep, Adirondack latte
Embellishments:  Flower Soft nut brown, misc. ribbon

The other day, I shared with you a sponging technique I like to use.  If you missed the instructions, see this post here.  I also created a card with that image which you can see here.  Well, today's card  uses the same technique but with a bit of a twist--I sponged just a piece of the image and then "pieced" that over the original stamped image.  Here is how I created this card using the new Memory Box Inspire Butterfly Collage stamp {G1352}.

1.  Stamp the butterfly portion of the stamp onto white cardstock using VersaMark ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.
2.  Sponge the wing of the butterfly using three different ink colors.
3.  Next, cut out the wing and set it aside.
4.  Stamp the entire image onto another piece of white cardstock, trim and ink edges.
5.  Piece the sponged wing you set aside on top of this stamped image.
6.  Add Flower Soft to the body of the butterfly and let dry.
7.  Cut a piece of Memory Box Frond paper to fit your white card base. Ink the edges of the Frond piece.
8.  Attach ribbon and adhere that piece to your card.
9.  Use pop dots to adhere butterfly image on top to finish.

Use Your Sponged Background!

Embellishments: Memory Box sparkling diamond jewel stickers, sewing machine, Spellbinders large deckled rectangle die

This is the card I created using the sponged background I made the other day. If you missed the tutorial on how to make this background, please see my post here.  :)  After creating the sponged background, I used my Spellbinders die to cut it out.  This particular die was the exact size of the stamp. It worked perfectly! Then I attached it to my Memory Box meadow notecard, and I tried to do some messy/deckled stitching to match the deckled edge of the background.  I then used the new Memory Box Dotty Butterfly stamp {C1355} to stamp two butterflies in different colors.  I embossed each of them in clear embossing powder and cut them out.  I also used the new Memory Box Happiest Birthday stamp {B1354} with white embossing powder for the sentiment.  I attached the Memory Box jewels and cutout butterflies last to complete my card.

New Stamps & Sponge a Background!

Oh, have you seen the new Memory Box stamps that stores should have received this week?  It's called the Enchanted Butterfly collection.  If you haven't seen them, here is a picture:

Every single stamp has a butterfly on it even the sentiment stamp. The butterfly on the sentiment stamp is a separate small stamp on the side.  How fun!

Today I thought we would play with the new Memory Box Garden Cutaway stamp {G1353}.  I want to show you how to create a sponged, embossed background.  It creates a very fun look.

First, stamp your image onto smooth, white cardstock using VersaMark ink. Then emboss it with your clear embossing powder.  Here is what it should look like.  Please note, it is really hard to take a picture of this.  :)

 
Next, choose your ink colors, and sponge the ink as you wish over the embossed image. I chose green, pink, and blue.  No need to be neat about it.  Just have fun!  Here is how it turned out:

Black, White, & Brights!

The other day on a message board there was a poll asking if you liked brights or muted colors.  It got me to thinking--I need to make a card with black, white, and some bright colors.  So, that is how I found inspiration for today's card.

First, I used a Memory Box licorice notecard for the base of my card.  Then I used some miscellaneous white cardstock I had on hand and stamped the Memory Box Mod Tree Border stamp {D1319} in black ink.  Then I stamped the circles in various colors, added some stitching, and a bow to finish.  I love how the black and white make the colors pop.  I hope you enjoy today's inspiration.  See you again soon!
 

Stack a Stamp!

Okay, y'all are probably wondering what I mean by "stack a stamp."  Well, it's what I tried to do with the Memory Box Flower Bundle stamp {E1321}.  I wanted to use this stamp on my card but it was too short; I wanted it to be longer.  I decided to stamp it twice stacking it on top of each other to make it longer.  I also was able to add more flowers by making the image longer.  I stamped the image onto Memory Box Spearmint 6x6 paper.  I also added another piece of Spearmint paper after I used a border punch along the edge of the piece of paper.  I filled the daisy border with Stickles bringing more brown to the design.  I then added a little fancy stitching, some twill, and some Memory Box mint pearls to finish my card.  I hope you will try "stack stamping" with your next Memory Box creation!  :)  Have a wonderful Thursday!
 

The Perfect Touch: Pearls, Stitching, & Ribbon

Oh how I love to sew on my creations. I don't do it very often because it is a pain to get my machine out of the cabinet.  Well, with my new room, I have it out most of the time now so I am hoping to add more stitching to my creations. We will see. :)  But today I wanted to show you how fun a card can be by just dressing it up with a bit of pearls, stitching, and ribbon!

This card was super easy to create but it looked rather boring until I added the little "touches."  I took two pieces of Memory Box Frond 6x6 paper and cut them to fit my card. I wanted a bit of the Memory Box Mocha notecard to show so I left a larger portion showing at the top. Once I cut the Frond pieces to fit, I added brown stitching to match the notecard.  Then I added the ribbon and attached it all to the notecard.

Next, I stamped the Memory Box Flower Bundle stamp {E1321} onto white cardstock, rounded the corners, and inked the edges. After attaching to my card, I finished with Memory Box white pearl stickers.  Just the perfect touches to dress this card up a bit.
