Let's Get Colorful!

Papers:  Memory Box key lime cs, Memory Box sherbet cs, Memory Box currant notecard, misc. white cs

Stamp Ink:  Colorbox Pigment Ink mango tango, razzberry, and citrine, Ranger clear EP

As soon as I saw this stamp, I thought it would be amazing to use with bright colors.  So, really the Memory Box Batik Bird stamp {D1313} was my inspiration for this card.  How fun!  First I stamped the image 3 times in 3 different pigment ink colors.  Then I embossed each image with clear embossing powder.  After that, I hand cut them out.  Because the images are not perfectly square, I wanted to cut them by hand.  Then I layered several Memory Box cardstock colors that matched the ink I used.  Next, I embossed a white piece of cardstock, attached the stamped images, and then added some ribbon.  To finish, I added Memory Box jewels.  Easy, fun, and colorful!  A perfect notecard for Spring, don't you think?  Have a great week ahead, and thanks for stopping by!
  

Thank You Set Continued {Sponging}

Good morning Saturday!  For our third card in our Thank You note set, I wanted to share with you how I sponge my images so that I still get a white border around my die cut paper.  Again, this is NOT my idea; just something I have learned in blog-land and thought I would share with my Memory Box readers as we create another fun Memory Box card!  :)  If you missed the second card and ribbon tutorial, see my post here. 

To start, I die cut my paper and then stamp and emboss my image with clear embossing powder.  Once I do that, I put the stamped and die cut piece back into the die itself.  Then I use my sponge to sponge the image.  Yes, ink will get on your metal die; however, you can just take a baby wipe or paper towel and wipe it off when you are done sponging.

 
Once I have finished sponging the entire image, I remove the metal die.  See the nice white border you get?  Almost looks like a second piece of paper. I love it!

 
Here is my third card I have created for my set of cards. I thought I would make this one pink, and I used the Memory Box Gossamer 6x6 paper pack! :)

So, as we finish our "Thank You" set of cards, I wanted to share with you how my set turned out using the same Memory Box stamp {Birds in the Vines} and the same card layout with different Memory Box notecards and 6x6 papers. Here is how they all turned out together:

Thank You Set Continued {Tying Ribbon}

Okay, so last week we started a set of Thank You cards. If you missed the first post, please look here.  Today we are going to make another card for our set but we will use different colors, and I am going to show you my ribbon tying trick.  Now let me preface this with--this is not my idea!  I have seen several posts and videos on this technique around the web. I have done this for over a year, and it works great so I thought I would pass it on to you if you haven't seen it!

First, punch a hole in the paper you want the ribbon tied around, and insert the ribbon from the bottom up through the hole.

 
Next, leave the piece you threaded up through the hole alone for now, and wrap the other end of the ribbon up and around your paper wrapping towards the left as if you are reading backwards.

 
Then you will end up on the backside again with your ribbon.  Cut your ribbon from the roll leaving it fairly long for tying, and thread the new end up through the hole also as you did when you began. Now you have the two ends threaded up through the hole with your ribbon wrapped around your paper.

 
Then tie your knot.  It always turns out so pretty this way, and the punched hole does not show.  I love tying my ribbon this way.

My first card used the Memory Box Frond 6x6 papers and the Birds in the Vine stamp {E1331}, and so does this card; however, I chose different colors.  Wait until you see the set together. It looks so pretty!

Next post, I will share how I sponge the edges and still have a white border on my die cut piece of paper.  And we will use that piece to create a third card for our Thank You set.  Hope you will come back and join me!  Have a blessed Friday!
    

Let's Start a "Thank You" Set!

I thought this card would be a fun one to make a set out of!  Wouldn't it be nice to create a box of thank you cards to give to someone?  Well, the Memory Box Frond 6x6 papers along with the Memory Box Birds in the Vine stamp {E1331} are perfect for this card and a set of cards!  Sorry I don't have the links for the papers or the stamp right now.  Typepad is not allowing me to leave a link at the moment.  Eeek!

Anyway, I stamped the image on plain white paper and embossed it after cutting out with my die cut machine.  I then sponged the edges, added mat paper and a ribbon, and attached it to my card. To finish, I added Memory Box pearls and a Memory Box sentiment.  Next post, I will show you detailed instructions on how I tie my knots.  I will also show you in yet another post how I ink my stamped image.  Each of these posts will be more cards for the "Thank You" set.  I hope you will join me in making a gift set of cards.  See you soon with another card and ribbon instructions!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 

"Frond" Thanks!

First, did you notice my new blog banner?  Do you recognize the papers?  Those are the new Memory Box Gossamer papers--Happenstance and Flitter.  They come in 12x12 or in the 6x6 Gossamer paper pack.  They are my favorite because of all of the pink!!  If you are new to my blog--welcome, and be ready for pink!  LOL!  It's my favorite color!  Anyway, let's move on to today's creation!

Oh, how I love the new Memory Box Frond papers. I also love the "double stamp" stamps!  Have you used any yet?  Well, the Memory Box Vine Border stamp {D1322} is a double stamp.  This stamp and all of the other Memory Box "double stamps" make it VERY easy to stamp in multiple colors!  The vine stamp has a vine on one side of the block, and then a small flower on the end of the wood block.

On today's card, you can see how I stamped the vine in green, and then I added flowers in two different colored blues. I could have used an endless number of colors but I just wanted the blue for this particular card.  The vine and flowers were all from just the one Vine Border stamp. Love that!

I did use my border punch first to punch the paper, and then I stamped the vine border and flowers.  I then added the ribbon but I kept the knot and ends small so that the pretty stamped flowers would show.  The sentiment is the Memory Box Thanks Script stamp {A833}.  It is such a versatile stamp. I am sure you have seen me use it a LOT before!

Just a Quick Note!

Well, sorry I have been quiet the past week and a half or so.  Since my husband's illness in November, I have fallen so behind and it's hard for me to get "on top of my game" again.  And then silly me decides to move 3 rooms around in the house.  Dumb move!  I certainly didn't have time for that but I now have a really nice craft room and office.  I am still not done but it's at least workable now!  Anyway, please forgive me for my absence!

I wanted to let you know that I am still around, and tomorrow I will bring you a card using the new Frond papers.  I hope you have your hands on them already! So, get your stamps, ink, and papers ready!
