Today, I wanted to share my first creation with our new releases! So many fun and new things to play with, it was hard to decide where to start. I decided to start with the new Holly Chick stamp {E1281} after watching Laura's video tutorial on stamping with Twinkling H20s.
First, I painted the stamp with my Twinkling H20s and stamped it onto my cardstock. As you can see, my first attempt did not work. My second attempt was better but still not perfect. However, I decided I liked the "imperfect" look, so this is the image I used.
Then I cut three separate strips of paper from the new Spiceberry 6x6 paper pack. I distressed the edges with my Making Memories tool and used my sewing machine to sew around the edges. I also added a sentiment using the Memory Box Thank You stamp {B1055}.
To finish, I added a ribbon, punched the edges of the cardstock, and added the new Christmas jewels to the image. Here is how my completed card looks:
Papers: Paper Trey Ink, Memory Box dill notecard; Memory Box Spiceberry
Stamps: Memory Box Holly Chick E1281, Memory Box Thank You B1055
Stamp Ink: SU ruby red
Embellishments: Memory Box Christmas jewels, Offray ribbon, LuminArte H20s poppy red and forest green, SU corner punch
This was definitely a fun technique to try. I will have to try it out some more; maybe even on more of the new releases! Be sure to watch Laura's video. It really is a great one! Oh, and if you missed my post on Saturday sharing all of the new papers, see my post here. You don't want to miss them. They are so yummy! Thanks for stopping by, and there will be more Christmas creations coming soon!
This is GORGEOUS!!
