Black-eyed Susans

 

Is anyone else ready for Spring?  It is cold today, and I wanted to make a card that was bright and cheerful. 

For the card above, I stamped the Black-eyed Susan (E422) multiple times onto the new 12" x 12" Sugardrop paper called "Bubblegum."  I thought the muted tones of the Bubblegum paper was more interesting than stamping on white or cream cardstock without taking any focus away from the flowers.  I then colored the flowers with three shades of Prismacolor pencils, added a thank you saying (B1055)in black ink, and layered everything onto a Gourd colored notecard.

A New Beginning

Welcome!  I can't tell you how excited I am to start my Color Whimsy blog.  I absolutely love coloring and am really looking forward to creating projects using decorative papers, markers, paints, inks, and of course, lots of great Memory Box images.  Thanks Dave for this wonderful opportunity!

For the happy birthday card, I stamped the Swish Flower (D698) onto pink metallic paper, cut out the image, and added a white pearl to the center. I then layered it onto a brown circle that matched my card as well as some of the new Sugardrop decorative paper.  I finished the card with a birthday saying (B828) layered onto the same pink metallic paper as the flower.
