I thought it was time to post a quick and easy card. For certain themes such as thank you cards, you often need to make multiple copies, so the simpler the better! For today's card I used several sheets from my 6" x 6" Fernbrae paper pack. I love the reds and blues of the background paper, and the blue paper with the red flowers worked really well for coloring my butterfly. The little red flowers added just a hint of color here and there to my finished butterfly.
To make the card, I stamped my butterfly (D1057 Palamedes Swallowtail) onto blue patterned paper using black Versafine ink and cut out the image. I took a sheet of eggshell cardstock and stamped it with the Swish Border (C989) and Thanks Script (A833) using the same black ink. I edged my creampaper with Adirondack Stonewashed ink using a Colorbox stylus tool and then layered everything onto Iris cardstock and a Licorice notecard. You can't really tell from the picture, but I added some clear Spica pen to the butterfly wings to make them sparkle and shine.
On an unrelated note, I thought it might be fun to show you my latest paper storage solution. I have several of the new Memory Box 6" x 6" paper packs, and I wanted to be able to store them so that I wouldn't mix up the different collections and so that I would be able to store all the little scraps. After all, I don't want to waste anything! Here is how I store my papers:
I keep them all in manila business envelopes that I punch with a 3-hole binder punch. I use one envelope per 6" x 6" pack and glue the picture of the paper collection to the front for easy reference. Technically, it is a waste of some pretty paper to glue it to the front, but I can get a feel for what the papers of the collection look like from the outside of the pack. I normally keep the envelopes on a bookcase shelf, but the holes allow me to put the envelopes in a 3-ring binder when I travel somewhere to craft. I know everyone has their own storage methods, but this really works for me.
