Jenny Griffiths is our Design Team member from sunny southern California - and her cheerful personality shows through in all of the delightful greeting cards she makes. Jenny teaches tons of classes and always creates the most beautiful card projects - she has inspired me on more than one occasion with some of the projects she shares on our Design blog!
She paired the Orchid Branch (G1718) and Fine Fern Print (G1719) together in this beautiful composition. A simple thank you (B1055) goes perfectly with the two. She stamped an extra orchid image onto vellum, then cut and mounted orchid petals onto the card to give a 3 dimensional lift.
Jenny's style is layered and coordinated - you can see on the project above the gorgeous mix of patterns and shapes all work together for a really interesting look. Notice the scored lines in the vellum layer - what a cool detail! The "I love your style" stamp (B968) is a great, all-purpose greeting.
Here's the really special part about the project - Jenny added some Glossy Accents to the petals of the G1364 Poppy Collage to create a shiny, watercolor look.
This particular image is solid on the petals - so how did she create the multi-colored look? Just color the image with waterbased markers (like memento markers!), stamp the image and then carefully spread the glossy accents over the petal area. The glossy accents will mix the colors a bit further for an amazing look!
I'll be sharing more of Jenny's work next - stay tuned!
