Blossom Circle
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Tuesday! Today I have a sunny and bright card to share with you inspired by the sun and blue skies we have been lucky enough to have this week.

Melissa1

I used the beautiful Blossom Circle die and made it the focus of the card today. I die cut it in white and then glued it to a light blue circle I cut out using the Wrapped Circles set. This was layered with foam tape onto a larger circle in a darker blue.

Melissa2

The yellow plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn and it added the right amount of sunshine to my blue card. I finished with a few pearls on the flowers.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

I Believe in You!
by Melissa Rusk

Melissa1

It's the end of the school year and a perfect time to send someone a little extra encouragement. This cute stamps set Bee Yourself got the job done. I started with the background of the card. I used the Hex Drift die and I cut it on a white piece of paper 5 times. Each time I turned the die around to create this background. I glued it on to a piece of cardstock that I colored with small ink pads. Using two different yellow colors I stamped the small square ink pads all over a white piece of paper to get the pops of yellow you see through the background.

I stamped the I bee-lieve in you sentiment and two bees from the set on white and then colored them with a yellow Copic marker and some clear wink of stella glitter for the wings. I mounted it on a black piece of paper and glued it to the card. I finished the whole thing off with some black gems.

Have a fabulous and crafty weekend!

Quick and Easy Cards
by Melissa Rusk

FullSizeRender

Hi friends! Today I have two quick and easy cards for you today using some of the fun mini stamps sets. For these cards I used a lot of the fun washi tapes that are available at Birch Press Designs right now. For each card I just placed a few strips of washi tape and then I took one of the sentiments and stamped it on the card.

For the bee card I stamped the sentiment below all of the washi tape strips and added one of the cute little bees from the stamp set.

For the space card I added the sentiment to the lower left corner of the card and stamped the moon and some stars. These are so fun to make and are perfect when you need a card fast!

Out of this World!
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Friday! Today I have a fun card that is outta this world!

Melissa1

For the background galaxy I started with a white cardstock and placed several colors of ink on the background. I used teal, purple, pink and yellow and just placed the colors in a random order to fill the paper. Then I covered it all with the Black Soot Distress ink, starting lightly so that some of the colors come through the black. I placed some water drops with a mist bottle and then finished it off with some dots of gold that I splattered.

Melissa2

I die cut the Astro Suit and the moon from Deep Space Planets in white and then colored them with my Copic Markers. I stamped my sentiment from the Outta this World stamp set and then glued everything to a black card.

It's so much fun to get messy and make backgrounds like this, I hope you give it a try!

IMG_7205

I die cut the beautiful Forget Me Not Blooms die in white card stock. I colored the stem in a green with a Copic marker. For the flowers I used a purple glitter pen from Nuvo to make them pop and sparkle. So much fun!

I added a few strips of fun washi tape from Birch Press Designs as the base of my card design. Then I stamped my greeting from the Spring Bunnies stamp set and glued the flower to the card. A pretty and simple card to send off a little Spring to someone who needs it.

Some Bunny Loves You
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Wednesday! It's finally spring and it's the perfect time of year to send a little love to your favorite bunny.

Melissa1

For my card today I stamped this cute line of bunnies from the new stamp set Spring Bunnies onto a white piece of paper. I also stamped the same image onto a piece of masking paper. I cut out the mask I created and placed it on top of the bunnies. I took my ink blending tool and some teal ink to create the color around the bunnies. When you remove the mask then the bunnies are ready to be colored. I used some Copic Markers to color these cuties.

Melissa2

I stamped the sentiment and the little heart under the bunnies and then glued it to a kraft card. I colored the heart with some clear Wink of Stella to add a little sparkle to the card to finish it off.

Have a wonderful day!

Devonshire Wreath
by Melissa Rusk

Hi friends! It is feeling like winter again this week so I decided to think Spring for my card today. It has to come some time right?!

IMG_7074

The Devonshire Wreath die is beautiful. To show it off on my card today I simply cut it out in white card stock. I layered some bright colors for the background of my card and then placed the wreath on a woodgrain looking paper that I created.
IMG_7074

I took a white piece of cardstock and scored it at every 1/4 inch. Then I took a light gray ink pad and wiped it over the paper, dragging it from top to bottom and not pressing too hard. The score lines stay white and then you end up with a wood grain effect. To lighten up the paper I then took a white ink pad and wiped it over top. It ended up looking like a weathered wood. So fun!

To finish it off I added some pearls to the center of the flowers. I hope you can make a little bit of Spring for yourself today!

Thinking of You
by Melissa Rusk

Hello Friends! Today I pulled out some of my Zig Clean Color brush pens out and did a little watercoloring. Let's make a card!

Melissa

First, I die cut the Marvelous Hummingbird out of watercolor paper. I cut a few to work on at the same time since each one turns out a little bit different. To color with these markers I took the marker directly to the paper in a small area and then came in with a water brush to blend the color out. I repeated this with each color I added, making sure to allow a little time to dry in between layers of color.

Melissa1

I kept adding and blending until I got it to how I wanted it. Be careful with the thinner lines like the wings and the tail, adding too much marker and water will tear them.

Melissa2

To create the card I glued a piece of white that I stamped with a sentiment from the Bird Sanctuary set and I cut with one of the Wrapped Stitch Rectangle dies and glued it to a Key Lime note card that matched my hummingbird. I finished it all of with a black gem for the eye and some green gems for some sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you get a chance to make something fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!
by Melissa Rusk

Hello Friends! Love is in the air, so today have a simple card perfect for your favorite Valentine!

Melissa1

For my card I used the Heart Rays Die and just cut it onto my card base. Then I glued a piece of red paper behind the die cut to make those hearts pop. I covered each of the hearts with my Clear Wink of Stella pen to make them sparkle.

Melissa2

I cut the Sentimental Happy Valentine's Day out of a pink paper and also colored that with my Clear Wink of Stella pen to add even more sparkle. I finished off the card with some clear gems. An easy and cute card perfect for your favorite Valentine.

Have a wonderful day!
