Thank You Kindly
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Tuesday! It is finally starting to look and feel like Fall here this week so I have a fun stamped card inspired by the season. Let's get started!

For this card I used the fabulous Garden Sketches clear stamp set. I started with the many leaves on a cream piece of paper. I put a bunch of the outline leaves stamps on my clear block and stamped them in brown ink a few times to start my pattern. Then I took the corresponding solid leaves and stamped them over the outlines in a few different Fall colors. I offset the solid colors a little bit to add some interest to the pattern I created.

I stamped the Thank You Kindly on a scrap of cream and cut it out. Then I layered it on a green piece of paper before putting it on the card. For the green and brown layers of paper I wanted them to match my inks so I created my own paper. I took a cream piece of paper and then I rubbed the brown ink on each side of the paper to get one that would work for my card. I did the same thing with the green ink and another piece of paper. Now you will always have paper that matches all of the stamping you did!

To finish the card I layered all of the papers on to a kraft card and then I added a gem to finish it off. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

A Spooky Box
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Weekend Friends! Today I have a fun Halloween pop up box card to share with you, let's get started.

For the box I used a tutorial I found online, there are so many ways to make this type of card. I found some directions and then cut and scored the black card stock to make the box. Then I used some of the fun Memory Box papers to decorate the sides of the box.

I cut the Whimsy Bat three times in black paper and then used a Wink of Stella glitter pen to give the bats some sparkle. Googly eyes make them extra fun. For the pumpkins I used an orange velvet paper and put them inside the box. To finish it off I added the Whimsy Ghost to the back with some more fun googly eyes. This type of card is so fun to make and it doubles as a cute decoration for your home.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy weekend friends! Today I have a fun shaped card to share with you, perfect for Halloween.

For my card base I used a Persimmon note card and I die cut it with the largest circle in the Studio Circle Layers set making sure to leave a part of the fold so the card still opens. Then I cut the Circle Web Collage in black and used another circle from the layers set to cut it out. I added some sparkle with a Wink of Stella glitter pen to make the web shine before gluing it to the card.

I added the super cute Whimsy Ghost in white to the card and gave him some eyes with some stickers that I had. To finish the card I die cut the Playful Boo in black and added some Wink of Stella to the letters before gluing them to the card.

This would be fun to add to a treat bag or to just send off in the mail. I hope you have a great weekend!

A Fall Sunset
by Melissa Rusk

Today I wanted to share a fun technique to make a sunset to accompany some of the new dies from the Fall release. Let's get crafting!

To create this fun background I used the Distress Oxide inks on photo paper. I layered the colors Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey by placing some in on a non-stick mat and sprayed it with water. Then I dragged the photo paper through it and then dried it with a heat tool. I repeated this step until the paper was covered to my liking, the colors will be dull at this point. To make them bright I took a baby wipe and wiped it over the photo paper to create the bright and shiny background.

It's so much fun! To finish off the card I cut the House Trio and Curved Hilltop dies to create a scene. I glued it all to a pretty Concord colored note card to finish off. It would make a cute Halloween card or a Fall card.

I hope you try out this fun technique!

You Make Me Smile
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Friday! Today I have a fun way to dress up the Cozy Mugs with some ink and some stamps, let's get started!

These mugs are so cute and can be used for so many different occasions depending on how you decorate them. For my card today I die cut one of each size mug in the set in white card stock. For the largest mug I masked off a line using some post it tape and inked the teal stripe with a foam blending tool. I repeated this with a slightly smaller strip on the bottom of the mug in a navy ink.

For the dotted mug I used the dot stamp in the Bird Sanctuary stamp set for the fun pattern. I just stamped repeatedly until the whole mug was covered. For the last mug I used both techniques, I inked the bottom of the mug and stamped the top portion. To finish off the card I stamped my sentiment on the largest mug and then added a line of gems on the navy stripe. The mugs are all stacked on a piece of paper that I cut with the largest die in the Pinpoint Rectangle set and layered on to a piece of navy dot paper.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, have a fabulous weekend!

Elf Fun and Winner Announcement
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Friday Friends! Today I have another fun slider card featuring these super cute new elf stamps! My elf is full of fun riding on a rocking horse while trying to juggle all of the toys in Santa's workshop.  But first....  the winner from Dave Brethauer's video contest.

Congratulations to Bonnie Dell!  Your comment was chosen at random to win the dies from your favorite card in the video.  Our design team coordinator Laura has sent you an email to collect your information.

I think all your dies are fantastic. It is so hard to pick a favorite. Right now i think the tiny fawns are the ones i would pick. I really love them all.

I stamped all of my pieces from the super cute Christmas Elves stamps and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Then I got to work on coloring all the images with my Copic Markers.

Once they were all colored it was time to put the card together. I die cut the smallest slider from the Straight Slider Grooves set at the bottom of my woodgrain paper.

I glued everything onto the card. To finish it off I colored some clear gems with my Copic Markers to get gems that would match and added them in between each of the items my little elf is juggling. Slider cards are so much fun, I hope you get some time to try one out soon!

A Starry Thank You
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Saturday Friends! Today I have a starry thank you card to share with you using some new dies. Let's get started!

The Starry Lens die is so much fun! I die cut it in a white paper and then glued some silver glitter paper behind it. To add some extra fun to this card I die cut three sizes of the Stitched Stars die and glued them to the card.

I stamped the thank you from the Sentimental Iris stamp set in purple ink and glued the whole thing to a fun and shiny purple paper. Some gems finished off this thank you card. Change up the colors and the sentiment and it would make a great gift set for someone.

Have a great day!

Get Well Soon
by Melissa Rusk

Today I decided to take a little break from Christmas cards and wanted to share a get well card I made for a friend recently.

I stamped the beautiful iris from the new Sentimental Iris stamp set and colored it with Copic Markers. I die cut it with the coordinating die set.

To create the background of my card I used the new Distress Oxide inks in the colors Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers. I pressed one of the colors onto my craft mat and sprayed the ink with water a few times. Then I pressed my water color paper into the ink, keeping it to one side of my paper. Then I dried the first layer with a heat tool and started the process again with the second color. I repeated the inking and drying process with the two colors until I got a background that I liked.

I stamped the get well soon from the same stamp set and then put the card together. To finish it off I created some dots with Wendy Vecchi's enamel accents.

Thanks for stoping by the blog today!

Pretty Poinsettias
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Friday Friends! Today I have another new and beautiful die to share with you from the Holiday release. These pretty poinsettias are perfect for Christmas.

For this card I started by die cutting the Poinsettia Oval in a shimmery white paper. Then I die cut the Poinsettia Oval Background flowers in a red glitter paper. I lined up the red glitter flowers and glued them to the Poinsettia Oval. Using foam tape I glued the Poinsettia Oval to a shimmery white oval of the same size.

I used the largest oval from the Studio Oval Layers set in a green glitter paper for my card. I glued everything to an embossed dot card stock and added some gold glitter gems to the centers of the flowers to finish it off.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by the blog!

Let it Snow!
by Melissa Rusk

Happy Saturday! I hope you all have loved the projects on the blog this week as much as I have. Today I am pretending it's not in the 90's outside with a hint of a winter wonderland.

To create this winter scene I die cut the Stitched Tree Horizon, the Snowy Cabin and the Snowbanks Drift dies in white and layered them on the card.

I die cut the Let it Snow Perky Script in a silver glitter paper and then glued it to the card. I added a gem to dot the letter i since I always seem to loose those little dots when I put the card together. To finish I created my snowy background by adding dots of snow with a white pen.

Now for the fun part! Want a chance to win the Snowy Cabin die? Leave a comment to this post by Sunday, July 23rd at 11:59PM EST.  One comment will be selected at random to win the die.  Good luck!
