Heart Gift Box
by Anne Thompson

One of my favorite dies from the latest Memory Box release is the HEART GIFT BOX 99954.  It is the perfect size for a small gift or candy treats for your valentine.  I used it on the front of a notecard and on a tag.

First, the card.

  • Assembling the box is easy since all of the fold lines  are pre-scored during the die-cutting process.
  • I decided to add a small piece of acetate to the box window.  I glued it in place and trimmed off the extra.
  • I then added a piece of skinny Scor-Tape to the outermost flap on the printed paper side.

  • All I had to do next was remove the covering over the tape, fold everything (be sure to tuck in the tiny tab at the bottom), and secure the flap under the front side of the box top.

  • I added some Scor-Tape to the back of the heart gift box and stuck it in the center of the heart on the notecard.
  • I found some pretty tissue paper and tucked a couple of small pieces into the box.
  • A white satin bow was the last thing I added to the front.
  • Remember the small heart that cut out to leave the window?  I added it inside the notecard.

I will give this card to my mother on Valentines Day with a cute little crystal sun catcher tucked into the Heart Gift Box.

Here's the tag.

  • I assembled the box in the same way I did before.
  • I used a large white tag and I added a strip of Cranberry Gingham paper down the center.
  • I used Scor-Tape to secure the heart box to the tag, lining up the edge of the box with the edge of the tag.
  • I threaded a pretty red and white striped ribbon through the hole in the tag and tied a bow.

I plan to attach the tag to a valentine basket for my Secret Pal.  I have the perfect little pin to tuck in the heart gift box for her.

I have started making up more of these little boxes to fill with candies (in tiny food-safe bags) to use as table favors/place cards for an early February luncheon.  Wouldn't these be sweet for a bridal shower?!  A sweet sixteen party?!  A wedding?!  I can think of so many more ways to use these little boxes.  Do you have your Heart Gift Box die yet???  You are going to want one!

Happy Crafting!
