Christmas Wishes
by Jenny Griffiths

 Hi Friends!

Do you like puzzles?  I do, and this card reminds me of one--just a bit.  Today's card features the Soaring Bird die which cuts several layers of the beautiful bird's outstretched wings.  So I chose to layer the colors.

Here's a close up...I die cut the bird in four different colors, 2 blues, a grey and a white.  The deepest blue was used for the body/outline and the other colors were for the detailing.

To start, I placed the outline piece face down on a craft sheet then added tiny amounts of wet glue to all areas.  It's important to use very tiny amounts so the glue doesn't gush out when it is positioned onto the background panel.

Rather than pick up the die cut with wet glue on the back, carefully aligned the background panel over-top the die cut and lowered it onto the adhesive.  By leaving it on your craft sheet, the bird will maintain its original shape and not stretch-- which is important because the "puzzle pieces" will fit snugly and the openings need to remain the appropriate size.

Next, add the interior paper pieces choosing from the 4 different colors already die cut.  A tiny bit of glue on the reverse side of each piece, and tweezers for placement is all that's needed.

Next, die cut the pretty Holly Collage leaves in a few shades of green, adhere near the bird's feet and add some bright red gem stones.  Add the panel to a note card, stamp and adhere the sentiment--done!

Hope you're starting to feel inspired to start your Christmas cards---anyone started yet?

Bonus: Don't forget you have enough pieces left over to make 3 more cards for a variety of pretty birds!
