I continued my experimenting this last week using the STUDIO HEXAGON LAYERS 30073 and the LARGE ANTILLES FLORAL LEFT CORNER 99610. I decided to make some tags that also work for this month's blog challenge #23 Celebrating Mom.
I began with a stack of notecards in a variety of colors and the largest die in the Studio Hexagon Layers set. I placed one edge of the die just a tiny bit above the fold line on the A2 notecard and ran it through my die cutting machine.
I then took the hexagon that was just a little bit smaller and cut it from a variety of plain cardstocks and printed papers. I cut a few more hexagons using the next sized die from the set. Then I layered up the hexagon papers onto the hexagon cards, some with just one layer and some with two.
I cut a bunch of the Large Antilles Floral Left Corner from various greens, blues, purples, and yellows. I placed the green ones in the center of each card and cut the blooms from the others to add on top of the green blossoms. I then added pearls or gems to the flower centers and as accents on the card front before tying on a ribbon. Here's another look at the finished cards. I really like how the tallest flower pops above the fold and the ribbon gives it a bit more stability.
I think this card is my favorite because I lined up the layers in kind of a wonky way.
Now I have tags or gift box enclosure cards for Mother's Day presents all done! Just need to add a little note inside.
