A trio from the new Goldfish Collage shimmers on a Mini Perfect Patches square for a quick and easy card. Hello, Jean Okimoto here, with a simple watercolored design in shades of pink, peach and gold.
I've re-discovered the Mini Perfect Patches die - 16 neatly-stitched 1" squares - perfect for backgrounds, collages, gameboards and layering. It's great with the Goldfish Collage - and perfect for contemporary Asian designs too.
Paint watercolor paper in dark peachy-pink shades of Peerless Watercolors, air-dry it, then spray it with Imagine Crafts Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz. Heat-set it and cut Goldfish Collage. Punch ¼" dots from scraps of the watercolored paper.
Paint another piece of watercolor paper in soft, watery layers of pink and peach. Dry it, then cut it with Mini Perfect Patches.
Diecut a piece of The Crafter's Workshop Stencil Sheet with the dotted design from the Modern Border Trim set. Stencil the dots onto three of the patches with Delicata Gold Shimmer.
Use a sanding block to lightly "scruff" gold mirror cardstock for a soft matte finish to complement the fish and stenciled dots. Punch two ¼" circles.
Cut textured natural cardstock with the 4" x 5-¼" Rectangle Basics die. Attach it to a side-folded A-2 card of smooth natural cardstock. Layering adds a subtle textural contrast and frames the design.
Assemble the card, add a quick note and send it on its way to someone special!
Thanks for stopping by...hope you'll try these techniques when you're mass-producing card sets for gifts and giveaways. Twenty goldfish and sixteen mini patches make it quick and easy - and each card will be unique!
