I think Laura Fulcher and I have been on the same wavelength this week since I, too, chose to highlight both the FINE TEC METALLIC WATERCOLORS from Birch Press Design and dragonflies.
I started with one of the new Chipboard notecards from Memory Box/Birch Press Design and splattered it generously with one of the lightest of the metallic paints--the center one in the photo below.
I then cut out the DRAGONFLY STEMS LEFT CORNER DIE NO. 99659 and the DRAGONFLY STEMS RIGHT CORNER die no. 99710 from black cardstock.
The next step was to cut the DAZZLING DRAGONFLY die no. 99668 from both black and copper cardstocks.
The final preparation before assembling the card was to cut the HAPPY BIRTHDAY UPRIGHT SCRIPT die no. 99684 twice also from black cardstock and glue the two layers together.
Once the paint splatter was dry and my die cuts were ready, I used a fine tip glue bottle to apply glue on the backs of the dragonfly corners and adhered them to the card front. I assembled the black Dazzling Dragonfly and then added the copper wings on top of the black ones. I placed the happy birthday a little off-kilter at the top of the card and used a matte black dot for the i. I then glued on three copper sequins to pull the copper color through the design.
I wish my photo showed the lovely metallic paint spatter better. Those spots really shimmer in the light. I've also added a few more copper sequins to the inside and plan to write my message in gold ink.
