I just love using the GIFT BASKET OVAL die 99649! Last week I filled it with hearts, and today I've filled it with ASTERS!
I created a bouquet for my basket using four of the new dies, cutting the GIFT BASKET OVAL from copper cardstock to hold the florals.
To create the bouquet, I cut two of the STITCHED ASTER CORNER 99644 from medium-green cardstock. I then cut it again twice from the Squash Dots Paper and snipped the blossoms from the stems. I cut SPROUTING VINE 99643 from two shades of green cardstock. Then I made a pile of STITCHED ASTER BLOOMS 99672 from more of the Squash Dots Paper.
I placed the snipped-off squash-colored flowers on top of the green STITCHED ASTER CORNERS. I layered the STITCHED ASTER BLOOMS on top of the two largest flowers. I used Glue Dots on the front lower edge of each of the completed Stitched Aster Corners to secure them to the inside of the lower front edge of the basket, twisting them around so that some of the flowers would spill over the edge of the basket. I added in several of the SPROUTING VINE to fill in the bouquet, some over and some under the basket handle.
Before anchoring the basket to the yellow card front with dimensional dots, I added a strip of Squash Dots Paper layered with a narrower piece of a light green cardstock. Three tiny pearls on that strip and more for the flower centers were the finishing touches. There's room enough to add a stamped sentiment on the green strip. And there's another aster on the inside! This will make a lovely card for almost any occasion.
