Purple Passion

Hello, Stampers!

Today's card features THREE stencils, two stamps, and one die. (Yowza!)

I decided to change it up today and get a little inky, try a little layering, etc. because I hear the best way to recharge your creative batteries is to attempt doing something you usually don't do. Here's what I came up with:

05-27-14-MB---Thinking-of-You

S U P P L I E S

Memory Box dies (Grand Heart), stencils (Flutter, Leafy Stems, Mesh), and stamps (Just Thinking of You Combo, Vintage Dreams); Inks: Ranger Distress and Dylusions Spray Inks (Ranger), Copics; Accents: bias tape, decorated gem (Prima), gems (Mark Richards)

Double- and triple-stencilling can be a lot of fun, so I suggest you try it! Here's how I did my background. Use two pieces of low-tack tape to adhere a panel to your craft sheet, then tape the Leafy Stems stencil over the panel to prevent slipping. Pounce with ink. Do not remove the Leafy Stems stencil, and place the Mesh stencil on top of it and tape down; then pounce ink using a different ink color. (I used the foam ink applicators by Ranger for this project.) Remove the Mesh stencil (but keep the Leafy Stems stencil) inkup Vintage Dreams, and stamp over the stencil. (You actually can't see this on mine because my base color of ink is very dark).

I have a second tip on my blog if you want to see what I did to transform my white bias tape into the lovely ribbon you see above!

Hope you give this one a try because it can be visually exciting (and it's fun)!

Thanks for stopping and have a blessed day!

Deborah
