This card was so fun to make. I just love the new frame dies that Dave has been making. This one is called Vaudeville Frame (98298) cut from white cardstock and layered onto a Russian Sage note. Other dies used to create this design were:
Fancy Blossoms (98312) - flowers cut from the new Wildbloom pattern paper
Tender Leaves (98313) - leaves cut from Key Lime Moroccan paper
Willow Dragonfly (98319) - wings cut from frosted vellum; body from Slate note
I like to cut a bunch of the flowers and leaves, then lay them out along the frame edge until I settle on the look I want. Then I roll the flower petals and leaves upward to give dimension and adhere them with glue dots. I like my Quickie Glue Pen for the more delicate pieces, such as the frame and the dragonfly. I added a gold glitter center to the flowers and rubbed a little bit of crystal Stickles to the dragonfly wings. The final step was stamping the sentiment, Wishing you a happy day (B1853) using black ink.
This card is just one of the five designs in my What's In The Box 2012 workshops offered at Ink About It in February and March. You can check the store website for details if you live in our area.
