Sponge Inspired Butterfly!

Papers:  Memory Box Frond, misc. white cs
Stamps:  Memory Box Inspire Butterfly Collage G1352
Stamp Ink:  SU creamy caramel, sage shadow, barely banana; VersaMark, Ranger clear ep, Adirondack latte
Embellishments:  Flower Soft nut brown, misc. ribbon

The other day, I shared with you a sponging technique I like to use.  If you missed the instructions, see this post here.  I also created a card with that image which you can see here.  Well, today's card  uses the same technique but with a bit of a twist--I sponged just a piece of the image and then "pieced" that over the original stamped image.  Here is how I created this card using the new Memory Box Inspire Butterfly Collage stamp {G1352}.

1.  Stamp the butterfly portion of the stamp onto white cardstock using VersaMark ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.
2.  Sponge the wing of the butterfly using three different ink colors.
3.  Next, cut out the wing and set it aside.
4.  Stamp the entire image onto another piece of white cardstock, trim and ink edges.
5.  Piece the sponged wing you set aside on top of this stamped image.
6.  Add Flower Soft to the body of the butterfly and let dry.
7.  Cut a piece of Memory Box Frond paper to fit your white card base. Ink the edges of the Frond piece.
8.  Attach ribbon and adhere that piece to your card.
9.  Use pop dots to adhere butterfly image on top to finish.

The Quilted Set

So, this week we have seen how I made a quilted card and what I created with the remnants.  Today I just wanted to show you the set together.  Don't they look pretty?  You could make 2-4 more and give these as a boxed set of thank you notes to someone as a gift.  Think of the different color schemes you could use. Quilted Remnants

If you saw my post on Monday, you saw the quilted card I made.  Today's card is made from the remnants of that "quilt."  After cutting out the quilt, I saved the edges and adhered them to a Memory Box cherry blossom notecard.  I did have to trim the edges of the card and the remnant to get them sized perfectly.  Then the Memory Box Branch Heart stamp {E1310} was perfect for the opening on the card.  Since the card was already quite colorful, I stamped the heart in brown and just added a few Memory Box pearl stickers along with a sentiment to finish.  I hope you enjoyed seeing what I did with the remnants!  Thanks for stopping by!
 

Quilted Gossamer

Oh, this card was so fun to make.  First, I punched out twelve 1 1/2" squares.  I used four different paper designs from the Memory Box 6x6 Gossamer paper pack.  I then inked the edges of each square and mounted them to a piece of white cardstock.  Then I used my Sizzix Top Note die to cut it out.  I then inked the edges of the "quilt" and added a ribbon  To finish, I attached it to my Memory Box kraft notecard and stamped the sentiment with the Memory Box Thanks Script stamp {A833}.

Now, when making this card I had a remnant of the quilt left--the outside edges.  I didn't throw it out! I made another card with it.  I will share that card later this week so be sure to check back!  Thanks for stopping by!
 

Sweet Valentine

Today I wanted to share with you another quick valentine card.  This one is my favorite!  I LOVE kraft and baby pink together!  You will also notice I did not put a title on this card. I thought it would be nice to leave it blank to use for Valentine's or any occasion.

To create my card, I first stamped the Memory Box Lovey Dovey Tree stamp {E1308} onto my kraft paper.  Then I stamped it several more times onto Memory Box Gossamer paper scraps I had on my desk.  I then cut the hearts out and added to the stamped image on the kraft paper.  I left the paper piece sort of long so that I could use a border punch on the bottom.  I then matted the piece with Memory Box Soiree Petal paper.  It's so pretty!  Then I added a bow, some Memory Box pearls, and attached it to my kraft card to finish!  I hope you enjoyed today's creation!  See you again soon!

Paper Piecing Artsy Owl {Part I}

I love the Memory Box Artsy Owl {B1258} stamp but this is one I haven't had time to play with either.  So, for the next two posts, we are going to design with the Artsy Owl stamp.

For today's post, we will piece our owl.  I love to paper piece but I don't do it very often.  This is the perfect stamp for paper piecing.  First, I started by stamping the whole owl on background paper I chose from the Memory Box Sweetbay collection.  Then I stamped parts of the body onto different papers from the same paper pack.

After that, I cut out the feathers.  Then I layed the feathers on the image starting from the bottom up to make sure they would all be the right fit.  Now you can see too that I stamped his wings and ears onto the green paper to the left.  I ended up using 5 different papers from the Memory Box Sweetbay collection to piece my owl.
 
After I cut out the wings, I attached them first to my "base owl" using my adhesive.  Once the wings were attached, I began permanently adhering the feathers from the bottom up just as I did when I was making sure that they would fit properly.

For my final piecing on the owl, I stamped and cut out the eyes and nose.  Once my owl was completely pieced as I wanted him, I cut him out, and he is now ready to use on my card.
