Let's Create Some Layouts!

This week, I am going to share two layouts with you.  They will be similar yet unique by adding different embellishments.  I will also be using the same color schemes; however, different Memory Box 6x6 paper packs!  So, grab your papers, stamps, and embellishments, and let's get started!

To start this layout, I first picked my papers by matching them to my photos.  If you remember from this post back in March, that is usually how I start a layout.  Then I decided to use sewing on both layouts I created for this week.  So, I went ahead and did my sewing around the edges of my cardstock and my Memory Box Sweetbay paper.  The stitching is nearly impossible to see in this photo on the patterned paper but it's there. :)  The Memory Box mango biscotti paper I will use for my title.

Next, I used my Quickutz to cut out my letters for the title with the biscotti paper.  I also inked the edges of the letters so that they would show up even more. I just LOVE using biscotti paper for die cuts and letters!  If you haven't tried it, you should!

Now, are you wondering what the title Kiwi means?  Well, you will see in just a minute.  She is going to be the new addition to our family!  :)  Hold on, and you will get to see our "little precious."  To finish my layout, I added lots of embellishments.  I did not do any stamping on this particular but for my layout I will share later this week, I did.  Anyway, after adding my embellishments, here is how my layout turned out:

Another Masculine {Card} & Get Your Entries In!

Thursday, I shared a masculine card with you that I made for my husband for Father's Day.  If you missed that post, look here.  Today, I want to share the card I made for my dad.

The cards are similar since I used the Memory Box Fernbrae papers and the Memory Box Club Panda {C1222} stamp on both cards.  But the overall style of the cards are different.  For my dad's card, first I cut a bunch of random strips of paper out of Fernbrae and keylime biscotti papers.
 
Next, I adhered the strips of paper, twill, and the title to my dill cardstock.

Then I finished the card by adhering the above piece to a Memory Box vanilla bean notecard.  I also add a chipboard star covered in Fernbrae paper and the stamped panda.  Here is how it turned out:

Last {Day} & My Take on the Sketch!

So, have you been working hard to get your creation done using the sketch I posted on Monday?  I have seen several amazing entries!  Today is the deadline to get your entries posted!  You need to have a link posted in the comment section from Monday's post by tonight at 11:50 p.m. Central Standard time to be eligible to win a 6x6 pack of Memory Box papers!  I hope to see a lot more entries today!

I thought I would share my take on the sketch using our new Seed Stems {CL139} clear stamp set.  First, I gathered all of my papers and cut them to fit my Holly Berry card.  I also stamped one of the images from the new set three times on white cardstock and punched them out with a circle punch.

Next it was just a matter of layering all of the papers, adding my pearls and ribbon, and it was done!  Here is how my card turned out:

More Girlie Fun!

My girls received a thank you card in the mail this week, and it was SO cute that I decided to copy it!  It was also perfect for one of our new releases--the Dress Form clear set {CL138}.  Now if you missed my post using this new set, look here.  I used the dress form, and it was really a lot of fun!  Today I am using the flourishes and scrolls from the same set.  Let's look at what I created.

On the right in the picture below, you can see the store-purchased card that my girls received in the mail.  Cute isn't it?  Then on the left, you can see the stamps I will use for my card.  I decided to use the same colors--pink and black though next time I may use some brown. :)

After choosing the flourishes and scrolls I wanted to use, I lined three of the stamps up on my acrylic block.  I stamped them onto the clear acrylic piece that goes with my stamp positioner.  That way I am able to align the scrolls perfectly around the edge of my card.

Next, I traced the shoe from the card onto a piece of biscotti paper.  I used my glue stick to adhere the biscotti paper to a piece of chipboard, and then I cut out my shoe.

After cutting out the shoe, it was fairly quick to finish this card.  I added a little Memory Box bling to dress up the card even more!  Here is my completed card:

New {Clear} Stamps & Our Notebook Winner!

Now onto yet another exciting new release from Memory Box!  This week we have the release of {10} new Crystal Clear stamp sets!  Yes, 10, and they are all so yummy!  You can see them here.  Today, I decided to play with the Dress Form clear set {CL138}.  Oh my goodness, I am probably going to use this set a LOT!  Y'all will want to get your hands on this set quick because I bet it will sell fast!  Here is how I made my card with this set.

First, I stamped the dress form in Memento tuxedo black ink.  Then I used two of the flowers from the set and stamped flowers on the dress form in different colored inks.

Can you see all of the amazing stamps in this set?  Oooh, just love it!  Next, I used my Copics to color the top half of the dress form and shade around the edges.

After coloring, I assembled my card and added Memory Box pearls and jewels to the dress form.  Here is how it turned out.

Let's Color!

Oh goodness, the new Memory Box Sparkly Bird Bonanza stamps are a must have!  So many fun ones to color and dress up!  Today I decided to play with the Chickadee {F1257} and my Copics.

To start, I wanted to use the Memory Box scalloped paper but of course I didn't want to waste any of it.  So, I cut off just the edges since that was the only part I would be using on this card.  I then adhered them to a piece of Biscotti robins egg paper.  I still have two other scalloped scraps left as well as part of the center portion.

Then I began coloring my precious chickadee. I started with the leaves and the branch.  I used Copics YG17, YG23, and E59.  I am still not great at using my Copics by I am just enjoying the process as I play. :)

I then moved on to the body of my bird using Copics BG11, BG34, BG45, E21, and E33.

I finished coloring the flowers in three different shades of yellow, added the sentiment, a bow, and some Memory Box pearls to complete. I also sponged a bit of Adirondack latte to the edges of my stamped image.  Here is how it all turned out:

Finishing Our Notepad!

Welcome back!  Today we are going to finish the notepad we started making yesterday. If you missed that post, look here.  To begin today:

1.  Cut a 3x3 piece of Glitterati.  Distress the edges.  I used my Bind-it-All to make a notebook edge.
2.  Stamp sentiment onto your 3x3 piece using the Memory Box Just a Note {B1053} stamp.  I used black ink and embossed in clear embossing powder.
 
3.  Attach to the front of you notepad piece we made yesterday out of the Biscotti paper.
4.  Cut a 5" piece of ribbon, and using Glue Dots, attach to the bottom segment of your notepad.  Wrap edges around the back of the bottom segment.
5.  Place your scrap paper down into the bottom segment of your notepad.
6.  Use your Crop-a-Dile to punch two holes completely through the ribbon, bottom section, and scrap paper.  You will insert your brads through these two holes.  This is what will hold the scrap paper in your notepad.  They are also easy to remove when refilling your notepad.


7.  The back should look like this.  I like to use larger brads so that the prongs are nice and long and can hold a larger amount of paper if I wish.
 
8. Now finish decorating the front.  When you are done, tuck the longer top flap into the bottom section just like a matchbook, and you are finished!

Grab Some Glitterati & Biscotti for a Notepad!

Some of you may have seen the notepads I make.  I have posted several on my personal blog.  Well, they make great teacher gifts or even a nice little "extra" for Mom for Mother's Day.  They fit in your purse, and you can use junk paper on the inside so they are great for everyone.  Plus you are recycling that junk paper!  I thought I would take today and Friday to share step-by-step instructions on how to make these.

First, grab some Glitterati and Biscotti paper.  This is what I will be using for this particular notepad.  I love the colors!

1.  Cut a 3 1/2" x 10" piece of Biscotti robins egg paper.
2.  Score at 1 1/4" and again at 6".  Fold along score lines. It should look like a matchbook.
3.  Distress and ink all edges.

Now start cutting some scrap paper to 4 1/2" x 3 1/4".  This is what you will fill the inside of your notepad with.  I usually fill with 20-25 sheets.
 
I also always write on the inside of the notepad the size I cut the scrap paper.  That way when the recipient runs out of paper, they will know what size I used so they can refill their notepad.
